The median newspaper columnist writing about bike infrastructure is like, "I once had to park 150 feet away from the coffee shop so I talked to 2 other drivers, a failing restaurant owner, and a person who once saw a cyclist run a stop sign about how bike lanes ruined our lives."

Today is the end of an era. We sold my Radwagon 4 cargo eBike today which we called the "Pa Patroller" from when my kiddo was much more into Paw Patrol. The bike was often lit up with Christmas lights or EL wire. Luckily the bike went to a family with little kids.
My hound just swallowed an entire rabbit like a snake eating a mouse. All I saw out the kitchen window was rabbit feet slowly getting slurped up like spaghetti. I guess I need to deworm my dog again...
I first learned about climate change in an env. science class that was part of my high school's agriculture curriculum. I remember watching a documentary about it, and my takeaway was the video seemed overly alarmist with some hypothetical news like this. It turns out, the documentary was spot on.

I made my first attempt at making #sourdough baguettes today. It was a success! The little one got sliced up and topped with goat cheese. Delicious!
One thing super annoying with higher ed is I am considered responsible to manage millions of taxpayer dollars for grants, manage student records, etc. but I'm not responsible enough to have admin rights on research laptops. It's hard to get stuff done when all IT staff leaves early for the day...

I saw these mammatus clouds earlier today at a party. I told people things were about to pop off. We were under a tornado warning 15 min later, and I got the picture of the wall cloud on my way home at a stop light. Luckily there was no tornado in this storm, but there are a bunch in the area! #kswx

Williams@conorpwilliams.bsky.social · 2mo agoA lot of people in K–12 education politics/policy are trying to convince themselves (and others) that U.S. families are desperate for schools to figure out how to *use* AI in schools. I think that that's wrong—and absolutely NOT what U.S. families want.

Bluesky isn't a bubble or an echo chamber, it's a garden. You plant some seeds and pull some weeds, you tend to it with care, and you make it into a space that pleases you when you come to sit in it a while. Other people can plant and tend to their own gardens, if they like. This garden is yours.
