Campaign Evolved is a nice little thing that mostly achieves what it wants to do, which is to make Halo with raytracing and a slightly less shit Library. i enjoyed it. for all future playthroughs I will just play the Master Chief Collection edition again.

i mean is there any way to get Campaign Evolved to *not* look like every single surface is fizzing for some reason. why is my graphics card glowing white-hot to make games look like noisy dogshit

honestly my opinion on emily wilson's criticisms on the Odyssey not being Homeric enough the same as my opinion on, say, "helen of troy wouldn't have been black". yes, i know. it's an adaptation, not a new translation.

Something I find weird is that after coming out of The Odyssey I assumed everyone would be taking about rebooting Columbo with John Leguizamo, and yet I can find no evidence of that discourse

tonight's movy is Event Horizon. I've heard mixed things about it but so far it's pretty good. i like how ridiculously forbidding and monstrous the ship is. all the doors have teeth. there's a hallway made of knives and Sam Neill is like "yes, you have to have one of those, for science reasons"

so the steam machine is actually quite a nice bit of kit? it *is* way too expensive but i've been pretty pleasantly surprised by what it'll run well at 1440p, and it's nearly-silent even under load. I might actually start using it as a first choice for games that don't need a lot of horsepower

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about who should be the new Abbott and Costello wrt meeting Frankensteins etc and I have landed on the definitive answer: Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson “The Detroiters Go to the Backrooms” is a license to print money

let's all be reasonable, civil human beings here. Of course we didn't like Widdecombe, but she didn't deserve to be murdered. She deserved something more along the lines of a lengthy, undignified, painful wasting disease.

non-binary means different things to different people. for me it's that some days I wake up like "several local historical accounts mention the appearance of a winged humanoid figure" and other days I'm more "mulder, are you about to tell me the mothman committed these crimes"

at last, the lair of the ancient malign force that has manipulated the world for millennia! sower of chaos! conspiring with fiends to control our sacred land. let us stamp it out once and for all. one last check of the ol' map, and...fff. hmm? nothing. normal. lets just, uh. i dunno. what the fuck.

the map of the Chaos Shrine from Final Fantasy resembles a large Star of David. no way around it.
