oh I'm quite adept at arguing with the people who agree with me
ah. I followed every account that came up as a search on Matt. That was a mistake.

RIP Tim Curry, who had the range to star in the two greatest movies about a mutiny in the middle of a transatlantic sea voyage, and also the crew occasionally breaks into song
We love it when our warranty replacement 18 TB hard drives also fail in the first month, don’t we?

Apple releases new Polishing Cloth for $9
Not to be overshadowed by the new Mac mini and Mac Studio, Apple today has also released an updated version of its Polishing Cloth. In an age of everything getting more expensive, the new Polishing Cloth is cheaper than before at $9 (down from $19).

Underappreciated: US farmland *already substantially produces energy, not food*, and does so very inefficiently. Corn ethanol (~40% of all US corn) requires about 100 times more land per vehicle-mile driven than solar photovoltaics -> electric vehicles. Shifting corn to solar *would free up land*.
anytime people raise concerns about land use for solar projects or anything like that i just want to point out that half the corn we grow in this country gets used to make gasoline slightly worse
This interview with Melanie Buggey, who just swam across the Georgia Strait besting a 60-year world record, has me in absolute stitches. What an icon lolll www.cbc.ca/radio/asitha...
New diet exploit just dropped, get it before the next metabolic patch fixes it
Optimist: The cup is half full. Pessimist: The cup is half empty. Western US water righs: Our baffling 100+ year old laws require me to pour 3 cups of water into this cup, leading to outrageous waste. We should blame the Saudis for this
Optimist: The cup is half full. Pessimist: The cup is half empty. Entomologist: The ethanol level is just right in this pitfall trap.
Reporter on Bond Market: The yields have come back up since then. Have you talked to Bessent about another type of intervention.? Trump: The ultimate intervention is our military. And if we have to use that, we will.
Passive voice is working overtime here. Trump cut taxes and started the war in Iran which have both massively ballooned the debt. NY Times makes it seem these things randomly happened and have “undercut” his plans to reduce the debt.
well i'm sure the media that wrote 50000 articles in 2016 about the sanctity of classified data when it was hillary clinton's email server will cover this with a proportional sense of scandal
Agentic coding is this for me! I had a wine inventory system that I wrote myself in Perl/cgi-bin. I still used it, but I hadn't updated it in literally 20 years. I hate user interface and web stuff; I noped out when CSS became a thing. Claude Code re-implemented it in Python/Flask.
We shouldn't discount the fact that at least part of the data center backlash (and by extension the broader techlash) is because people feel like the tech industry has not given them anything cool, inspiring, beautiful, or useful in a long time
A complete list of potential Apple TV hardware improvements that I care about: 1) Bitstream output of TrueHD+Atmos audio Probably still not going to get it.

I was able to translate the menu, briefly seen in the restaurant/bar on Mat'aar XII in #StarTrekSNW's "A Case of Chiaroscuro". It contains some spelling mistakes (fixed) and as you can see, several familiar c/mocktails are available in the bar. :-) Here's how I managed to decipher the text: 1/8
See NYT asked me for an op-ed on the Colorado River water issue. So that's what I told them. And the editors panicked & cancelled the piece. In case we're wondering why "nobody can figure out how to solve this difficult issue." We absolutely can, a lot of our professional talkers are just cowards.
Maybe just start by charging a market rate for water instead of using prior appropriation
Someone tell NASA that we found a short cut.
SWEET, THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS IS GOING TO EXPIRE ON MY CRIMES.
