Underappreciated: US farmland *already substantially produces energy, not food*, and does so very inefficiently. Corn ethanol (~40% of all US corn) requires about 100 times more land per vehicle-mile driven than solar photovoltaics -> electric vehicles. Shifting corn to solar *would free up land*.

Passive voice is working overtime here. Trump cut taxes and started the war in Iran which have both massively ballooned the debt. NY Times makes it seem these things randomly happened and have “undercut” his plans to reduce the debt.

Agentic coding is this for me! I had a wine inventory system that I wrote myself in Perl/cgi-bin. I still used it, but I hadn't updated it in literally 20 years. I hate user interface and web stuff; I noped out when CSS became a thing. Claude Code re-implemented it in Python/Flask.

See NYT asked me for an op-ed on the Colorado River water issue. So that's what I told them. And the editors panicked & cancelled the piece. In case we're wondering why "nobody can figure out how to solve this difficult issue." We absolutely can, a lot of our professional talkers are just cowards.
