It was profoundly irresponsible of Governor Dan McKee to veto the Building Decarbonization Act, one of the biggest pieces of climate legislation to pass the General Assembly in the last few years. We must reconvene for an override as soon as possible.

Gov. Dan McKee vetoed bills that would have required large building owners to track emissions. The move leaves Rhode Island with no clear pathway to lowering greenhouse gas emissions from buildings, which account for about a third of the state's emissions. bit.ly/4eKmYXc

Beyond disappointing that Gov McKee vetoed the energy benchmarking legislation. Our energy systems aren’t working for working people & we need to fight for bold system transformation with that in mind. Proud to work with fellow fighters, not folders, Senator Kallman and Representative Kislak.
