COPE: The Coalition of Progressive Electors

@copevancouver.bsky.social

Stephanie Allen for Mayor. Join the movement to Evict Ken Sim and fight for housing, public services, climate action, and integrity at City Hall. All power to the people. https://www.votecope.ca/

Remember as your eyes burn from the smoke today, Ken Sim and ABC voted to allow fracked gas in new builds, cancelled $8 million in climate retrofit grants; voted against funding for cooling kits for people in the Downtown Eastside; and got rid of the climate justice charter.

Its time we accept that our governments don’t view housing as a human right. They do respect property rights, as we saw when ABC councillors expressed empathy for home owners facing negative impacts from the Villages Plan. But in the same week, renters at Myron Manor were given zero consideration.

When we replace ABC on School Board, we'll work to pause Chatbots in classrooms and conduct an AI Audit which will include broad consultation with parents, educators, and students. COPE will always fight to prioritize the well-being, safety, and educational development of students in Vancouver.

A toxic beach is bad for everyone - homeowners, renters, tourists, and obviously our wildlife. Don’t let big oil ruin Vancouver. Let’s join the Tsleil-Waututh Nation and COPE Councillor @seanorrofficial and RESIST development without protections for our residents and our environment.

Coming up on The Early Edition: The first of two mayoral "forums." Stephanie Allen, William Azaroff and Pete Fry would all like to be the one to take on Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim in the upcoming municipal election.
