We need to stop giving our time and money to companies who do not genuinely care about their users, or the harm they may be causing. If we want this behavior to stop, we need to show them that we do not need them. if that means we lose out on whatever service they provided? So be it.

In case you missed it, the account mrrobertbob posted an extremely viral but misleading pic of a "flapjack octopus" who then blocked everyone who correctly pointed out it was GenAI. Stop sharing posts with images without credit/provenance. Lots of fakes/grifter accounts out there.

Another reminder to creatives to be extra careful with...I don't know what to call it..."industry phishing"? Beyond the massive increase in tedious Ai spam/phishing pointed at creatives, I've gotten 3 agent/publisher phishing emails lately. All from suspect addresses. Heads on swivels, kids.

For anyone even thinking about going to an art college (I mean, think again very seriously either way because it's probably not worth it in most cases) make sure it's not a college shoving genai into it like this one.
