Joshua Erlich@joshuaerlich.bsky.social · 3d agoto take an actual crack at this: requiring effort to access entertainment (set schedules, physical media, rare reruns, limited home access), often meant you proved yourself a fan by dint of the consumption itself, and I think that’s been replaced by toxic fandom to prove your bona fides.
The fact it’s come to this at all just shows how badly the US healthcare system has failed in actually doing its job to save and protect people’s lives. Jesus Christ this is horrible
