Game Director at Curvature Games My opinions are my own unless mind control was involved.

X-Men '97 continues to be so good that it's genuinely hard to talk about, and makes me feel weirdly vulnerable to even recommend. (Maybe cause it brings me close or to tears most episodes.) If you've enjoyed ANY superhero thing this century, especially any X-Men thing, don't sleep on it. Seriously.

My friend has worked in game testing for many years on some of the biggest most confidential games. He unfortunately got laid off by his employer who shall not be named (you can assume...) If anyone in the UK knows of game testing roles I would love to send his info your way

VSAV, +R, & BBCF represent different ends of pushing the genre to its max in the same direction. Natural culminations of the genre. True sicko games from the devs. Asuka 120% is an unnatural culmination pushed to its max. Hinokakera is the enthusiast maximalist game. CVS2 is SF pushed to its end.

☀️BIG SUMMER GAMES FEST THREAD☀️ That's a wrap on another INSANE SGF Here are all the incredible games we worked on, both client-side and exciting publishing announcements 14 GAMES... 14!!! 💌 email press@ / creators@ futurefriendsgames.com for more info! Let's start with our lovely clients 💖 👇

My teenage daughter took me to see The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act. Moving, personal and heartfelt. Such a beautiful set of colour to paint such a personal story. Bravo 🥹

A reminder that our 'role-puzzling' game Arranger is 60% off on Steam/Switch, and also out/cheap on PS5, EGS, Itch, iOS, Android. It's everywhere, dammit! We're also not worlds away from an Overwhelmingly Positive rating, which would make me deeply happy. What if YOU left a review? arranger.quest

Genuinely, this concern about AI is one of the reasons why I think having friction in video games is good and why it's increasingly important to have games that simply exist instead of catering to our expectations. Reposting this message from Kojima about "pre-digested" art:

And he said, "If everyone likes it, it means it's mainstream. It means it's conventional. It means it's already pre-digested for people to like it. And I don't want that. I want people to end up liking things they didn't like when they first encountered it, because that's where you really end up loving something."

“The Al is not just telling you what you want to hear. It is training you, one conversation at a time, to need less friction, expect more agreement, and become slightly less capable of handling a situation where someone pushes back on you”
