AI checkers are pure, 100% snake oil. Not only do they not work, they scientifically CAN NOT WORK. There is no mechanism an "AI checker" can use to look at text and determine its origins. It's like selling someone an engine add-on that claims to let their car run on water instead of gasoline.

It's possible I hate these people who put someone's work into an AI checker and then declare it was written by AI more than I hate AI itself. These tools don't work, and it just lets these losers get the thrill of trying to start a pile-on with their equally loser admirers.

I enjoyed David Morrell's book Creepers, so I was looking forward to Do Not Enter, the movie adaptation. Having seen it, I can say... ...Creepers was a good book, and it would have been nice if they made a movie version of that instead of whatever the fuck I just watched.

I 100% have not changed a single goddamn thing about how I write here in the age of "AI." I write how I write. If the "AI" writes anything like how I write, it's because it stole from me. I'm gonna use any punctuation I like, and if it looks "AI"ish to you, you can go fuck yourself.

This morning's writing is making me reflect that a mystery has two big challenges. Obviously, first is making the culprit look innocent. Second is presenting a bunch of innocent people in a way that makes the reader think, "Okay, but they COULD have done it..."

This is why I'm always nice to young Mormon proselytizers and give them a polite "No, thank you." Their church sends these kids out in the HOPE that you'll get angry and shout at them, so they'll feel like the world is hostile and that they're only safe with fellow churchgoers.
