One animator put it plainly: “You have no idea how frustrating it is to see press release after press release touting how much money our animated film made and how many nominations we got; then [the studio] turns to people who have worked here forever and says, ‘We don’t need you anymore.’” Heh.

I've talked with several friends, legit pros and even Eisner-winners, who were not registered to vote and had to apply…AND a lot of eligible folks haven't even heard this is an issue. The deadline is the day after tomorrow, so do it right now. (If you got the email below then you ARE registered lol)

It had been a couple weeks since I’d started the ‘51, but she rumbled to life and for a few minutes, I was with my Dad again, smelling his garage, and my childhood. As I walked back to the house, the first drops of rain changed the asphalt’s scent in another miraculous instant. I needed both.

Saddened to learn of the passing of the great #GaryKelley —a huge inspiration for me. We own two of his pieces—this is one, called “The Three Mikes”. His shapes, textures, compositions, and mood are always lingering in the back of my artist brain. Warm thoughts to his family, friends, and fans. #
