i’ll be going to the AWP conference in Baltimore this week, on behalf of the UNC Wilmington creative writing program—i’m very excited to meet writers, attend panels, & explore the bookfair!
I am going to link to organizations that I know for sure are helping trans Kansans. This thread will develop slowly as I either know people or will vet them. At this point we have not heard from anyone being helped via relocation resources. These exist, but I assume they are overwhelmed.
Art matters. And what do we do with things that matter? We protect them. Here is information about H.R. 7661, a US book banning bill that explicitly targets books about trans people, and what you can do right now to help stop it.
