Stay at home dad. Maker of sawdust. Public policy designed by and for the top 1% is the precursor to a failed state

There is a real rotten culture at the heart of Portland & Oregon’s business community that the Blazers are parroting. Nothing is ever good enough. We are going to tear this city down because it doesn’t cater to my EXACT needs. When I do get something, feck the rest of you & I’ll still complain.

Interesting to watch the Blazers adopt the “This City is a Shithole” strategy of the business community as the Timbers, Thorns, Fire and Pickles/Cheery Bombs/Bangers manage to do what an NBA franchise says it can’t.

The endgame for Dundon is and always was attempting to force a move or force a buyout at a profit (which he’s actively attempting to spike, but 🤷🏻‍♂️) and deal with the city or no deal, this will continue to be The Plan. The NBA signaled no more moves, but there’s probably a “hardship” clause in there

After approximately 7266238 people told me I'm wrong on this and after hearing both the Blazers and the City today... maybe I am wrong on this.

So the woman is doing all the labor for the deadbeat partner and then celebrating _him_ afterwards, knowing she did all the labor but propping him up anyway? AI for incels by incels, thinking they’re marketing to women who love deadbeats

most charitable read of this ad is that ai companies are just straight-up admitting that their products are exclusively for horrible people who suck.

I wish that Olive Garden had the fucking integrity to put out a statement that no, you don’t need a fucking government ID to eat fucking pasta. This is one of the dumber lies and it is amazing that no one ever asks [random republican dipshit] “when was the last time you ate at Olive Garden?”

Weirdly, aside from not having public transport from the outset, the only real “disappointment” of DIA is that it was built a billion miles away from the city it serves (which was done specifically for noise pollution concerns, whatever) otherwise, it’s functionally very good at being “airport.”

Trump: "The last major airport built in the US was Denver in 1995. It hasn't gotten very great reviews. So we're doing something with Dulles that's gonna make it I think maybe the top anywhere in the world. By the way, Palm Beach is gonna be one of the top too."

If art is something that you continue to think about and discuss long after you’ve experienced it, then I guess that Nolan has accomplished that with the Odyssey. (Also movies are objectively better in a theater without interruptions or compulsions to grab the phone.)

Thinking over the last three Timbers games, it really feels like this team has a serious floor-to-ceiling delta. The highs are pretty good (not exceptional, but pretty good) but the floor is really low. And getting this whole bunch to play at their ceiling at the same time is daunting
