The most powerful sword the media wields for Trump is omission. Selective silence, and inability to follow up on anything for more than 12 hours of a news cycle. Hide the sins, and the American People never hear them. Fixed it for you, USA Today.

Opinion: The most powerful sword the left wields against Trump and is omission. Selective silence. Hide the positives, and the American people never hear them.

not quite. you see, it is very simple. a video game can be any or just one of these things, and can be in any state on this chart at any time depending on the context or rearrangement of its elements (mode, ruleset, singleplayer vs multiplayer, etc.). elementary

video game is........................

a three-circle venn diagram. the circles are labeled "media art", "toy", and "game" ludological.

the central overlap area reads "the ocean of simulacra (here be monsters).

the overlap between media art and toy is a gradient range. towards toy, it is labeled "ritualized play". towards media art, it is labeled "virtualized installation art".

the same applies for the other two overlaps.

between toy and game (ludological), towards game is labeled "structured play", and towards game (luodological) is labeled "tactile-cognitive challenge".

between media art and game (ludological), towards media art is "ludonarrative media", and towards game (ludological) is "social sport".

for science, bc I got into a big argument with my friend group over this, if I were to say something like "video games are intrinsically a form of toy"...how would that make you feel?

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

The Diarrhea Lettuce Company Has Been Linked to Forced Labor

The lettuce-producing Taylor Farms was linked to the widespread use of prison labor before its involvement in a cyclospora outbreak.

I wonder how much would society change, if millionaires started counting their fortunes not from mere income or current value, but from total throughput - i.e. counting their economic output as part of their fortune as well.

Hoy en capitalismo tardío, pero super recontra requete tardío: "humanoides" (léase desclasados sociales) controlados y "mejorados" por dispositivos de IA. Nos prometieron carros voladores y en vez terminamos con la versión gachísima de Blade Runner.

Marvel Tŏkon is reported to block Linux users... Second time that ArcSys blocks a game for Linux (the first being Dragon Ball FighterZ), even though Easy AntiCheat can have it enabled with a toggle (do they assume it's too unsafe?) #Tokon

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls appears to block SteamOS / Linux

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls has an Open Beta available and sadly they seem to have blocked SteamOS / Linux from playing due to anti-cheat.
