Assets that I made for the 2024 Roguelike Celebration Steam sale page. 🧑‍🎨 The tallish tile size here I'm very fond of. I choose it because it reminds me of the tall grid often in ASCII roguelikes, but it also had some benefits when it came to actually draw the tiles & sprites.

I tend to think of the pixel art that comes post Pixelation forum innovations in mindset and technique (around 15 years ago) as 'newschool pixel art'. As in, when I see anyone that learned directly or through osmosis certain concepts of pixel art from that lineage is doing 'newschool' to some extent

Here's one of many buildings I made for Forge of the Fae, an upcoming RPG I've been working on alongside a crack team of seasoned pixel artists (grass and dirt tiles not by me). #pixelart

Is anyone else a fan of bad movies? I often keep a tab with a movie playing while I pixel, and real cinema is just too engrossing. And I don't mean so-bad-it's-good MST3K type stuff, I mean ACTUALLY bad- that perfect state of utter mediocrity.

Portraits I made pixel version of for Fixeight Exa Label. I worked off of new concept/promotional art by Nanpei Kaneko, who also did the promo art and ingame portraits for the original arcade version. Each of the portraits is 16 colours (including the black) and are in 15bit colourdepth. Fun times.
