C. L. Curole - Vexed by a smorgasbord of petty bullsh--

Adult feral goblin child. Chaplain, artist, curmudgeon, cat person. Basically decent but also sweary. Recommended 18+ or with parental supervision. I nuke anyone I find sufficiently annoying. No DMs, followbacks or asking for $€£¥ on the first date.

If someone wanted to adopt one or more of those long-term cats, we could possibly make more space for Honeydew to see if we could have a breakthrough, but it’s irresponsible and unsustainable as a rescue to just warehouse these cats indefinitely hoping for miracles. Sometimes the window is closed.

Just did a quick look around and I don't see very many headlines about the President of the US making people pledge allegiance to him personally while telling everyone to commit election fraud and "cheat like hell" to support his party. Seems like it should be a story?

Trump: "Please right your right hand. I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States. That loves us so much he can't even breath. That I will go out with my family, my friends, I'll do it any way - I don't care if I'm registered or not, I'm going to try to cheat like hell..."

In the 25 years since 9/11, the United States has spent $8 trillion+ on wars that have taken millions of lives in the name of fighting "terror." Can you imagine if we had instead invested those funds here on climate, health care, housing, and education?

we don’t teach young people short-term history, so it was weird when i realized that gen z had no idea that so many gen x and millennials spent our high school years protesting george w bush and not just because of the wars, but because mosques were being targeted and sikh men were being attacked

There are already articles circulating trying to rewrite history and say America was great after 9/11 and united and thoughtful and just a reminder that that period was marked by intense and insanely racist hatred, paranoia, and a frothing desire for unhinged violence and oppression.

🧵 🚨YOSEMITE SCAM🚨 Trump’s Interior Dept. is trying to use the Land and Water Conservation Fund to carve up Yosemite National Park and sell off land for private development. Why? So a rich guy can have private road access. This is totally outrageous, and an insult to the spirit of the LWCF.

Trump Administration Looks to Give a Swath of Yosemite to a Developer

The proposed land swap would allow easy access to the crown jewel of the national park system. Democrats and former Park Service officials are incensed.

Paul LePage’s new ad says he’ll “always fight for Maine.” Always. He said Black people “kill Mainers.” He called a state rep a “socialist cocksucker.” Threatened to point a gun “right between his eyes.” He doesn’t fight for Maine. He’s a vicious bigot. Vote for Matt Dunlap. #mepolitics

I feel like I’m losing my mind. The president of the United States is promising $5000 payouts if his party wins the midterms, and the discussion in the media is “but what about the deficit” rather than “vote buying is illegal”?

The President’s Big Ugly Bill is so unpopular that they gave it a new name: the “Working Families Tax Cut.” It’s still the same bad law: Ripping health care from millions of people and jacking up prices for everyone else to give tax breaks to their billionaire friends.

Netanyahu knew of Hamas's terror attacks on October 7 and DELIBERATELY IGNORED it & allowed his own people to die for war and power... Tell me why it's acceptable for any elected officials, Democrats or Republicans, not to condemn Israel's genocide and continue taking money from AIPAC? I'll wait.

Democrats should be at the microphone right now noting that this is a Hatch Act violation that they'll be pursuing in January. I don't care that the nation's become numb to this shit. It's still illegal and if Democrats should run against it and then act to crush it.

The Attorney General of the United States is speaking at an explicitly partisan political rally tonight and I would never have even known if I wasn't a loser who looked up the speaking schedule myself. The Loretta Lynch tarmac meeting is so quaint.

1. Elon Musk is spending millions pushing Americans to VoteSafe, which bills itself as a voter registration site but is actually a digital surveillance machine.

Once you notice this, it's the most obvious double standard in the political press. Democrats have to answer for the smallest voice even if it has no actual tie to them, but Republicans never have to answer for the insanely racist billionaire donor driving their entire party.

Democrats who have had absolutely nothing to do with Hasan Piker will be hounded about him, while Republicans who are directly benefitting from Musk funding will be asked about him in the most generic "money in politics" way, if at all.

So, several months ago, when it became clear that the Anthropic settlement was designed to slice up payouts between the author and the publisher, I sent an email to them via my editor that, as the sole copyright owner of the works in question, I expected them to forward any payment they get to me.

HOLY SHIT DUDES fucking with the environment is now not just a sin (which Francis also said), it is classed as a direct fuck-you to God and a central tenet of the reasoning is the need to care for "our common home," i.e. you are morally obligated to think about the other people who also live here
