This might be the most stressed I’ve been about a surgery recovery since Teresa &, more recently, Setzer. Poor Laguna is SO wound up & upset, I had to throw some gabapentin in him in the hope it would settle him down enough to sleep. He’s so hungry but can’t make his mouth work right. I hate this. 😭
It took this lil’ fuzz bucket about an hour to figure out how to get in the trap. While he was working on that, his little torbie cousin was putting herself in my other trap off camera, and I was able to reset it & catch an adult male, too. Good start at Orange Colony today.
Currently at 69% of our target (nice) -- we really need to book Mango & the wonky kittens in for scans & treatment ASAP. So here's our promise: if we hit the goal by the end of the week, we will keep wobbly dwarf kitten Chessie and name her Smolla Paula www.gofundme.com/f/emergency-...

Welcome back, Kickstand! Our wobbly CH guy from the gas station woodlot had to spend some time at another rescuer’s place being kenneled because we had no space for him w/Cid taking up our feral cat room. He didn’t get much socializing while he was there so we’re going to see if we can tame him up.

Now that I’m done with Final Fantasy colony, I can return to another spot that I’ve wanted to do serious work on for years— Orange Colony (named for the group of 6 orange kittens that came from here a couple years ago). Matriarch Molly is gone but her kids are still proliferating. Look at this guy!

I know things are bad but please don't pass up adopting that puppy or kitty that you've been thinking about. My house and my rescue foster network are so full that we are passing up on lives that we could save because adoptions have trickled to a stop in 2026. And we're not the only rescue affected.

Laguna showing off his best blep. This guy will be having surgery on Tuesday to remove a suspected polyp deep in his ear that has kept him struggling with a chronic, persistent ear infection. It’s not as simple as a normal polyp removal, and we are a little apprehensive, but he’s worth it.
Baltimore and DC, GET YOUR KITTIES?! Look at them. They are perfect. I cannot get a cat. If you are so lucky as to be a person who *can* get a cat...you could get these adorable creatures!

Well, we have fostered for 5 years without a foster fail, but after losing our boy Smidge in May, Gizmo came into our life & has chosen my wife as his person. And even Sushi, who usually barely tolerates kittens, has given him her seal of approval. So our good adoption week continues—welcome Gizmo❤️
