🚨We have written to all MP's expressing our anger at the government. Our rights WILL be restored. Our voices WILL be heard. We will continue to fight 🏳️‍⚧️✊

150,000 marched yesterday in London for trans rights. Opened the Sky News app. Scrolled and scrolled. Nothing. BBC News app. Nothing. Guardian app. Nothing. This is what actual silencing looks like.

Just had meeting with kiddo's school. She has been fully supported, treated with full equality & dignity for years. All of that changes from September. Full segregation & humiliation across the board. The school staff cried in the meeting. This will absolutely lead to children's deaths 1/2

1/🧵 We do need to talk more about the illegality and lawlessness of the Cass Review. Hilary Cass cited Anne Wæhre's then-unpublished “study” via “personal communication”. It was later published at doi:10.1007/s00787-024-02508-5 and doi:10.1111/apa.17530, and the papers have now been retracted.

We now must fix the law, and the huge backlash you have driven really matters. It will not come into force today, but is set to at a later date to be confirmed. This marks a low point in our country’s history of LGBTQ+ rights, but history is still being made. Trans people aren’t going anywhere.

ANOTHER frustrating take. TERFDOM in the UK didn't succeed cos 'they' were more successful than 'us' at 'reaching the people who matter'. They were more successful by BEING the people who matter. Bigotry positioned with entrenched power vs trans people holding no power.

people don't want to hear this, but it's why elite persuasion matters the uk becoming the most trans-exclusionary developed democracy in the world under a labour gov was not a bottom up thing—it was the other side reaching the people who matter www.liberalcurrents.com/the-end-of-t...

We've had years of 'concerns' about these children plastered all over our media. This is the end point - our society is so 'concerned' about trans children that we've carefully made sure they will spend a third of their childhood on a waiting list to nowhere.

Whilst this is a draft, the government has been advised by many experts leading up to this. I’ve been part of this myself, and choosing to keep loopholes that create room for abuse under the guise of healthcare is the antithesis of what medicine should be Every doctor should be loudly opposing this

I've spent years working towards a ban on conversion practices, hoping to see a bill published. Today, I just feel so profoundly sad. As many others have noted, the draft has a carve out for "healthcare" so broad it makes a mockery of the idea this is a 'ban'. 1/2 www.gov.uk/government/p...

There will never be a conversion therapy bill from this Government that outlaws the current Government endorsed NHS approach to trans kids, which has conversive practices at its heart. Suggesting 'loopholes' can be closed in a forthcoming consultation is beyond naive, it is dangerously unserious

Hot Take -The UK LGBT+ sector is weak, ineffective & a large part of the reason why we are in this mess. Self congratulatory, ineffectual & compromised -they welcomed the Cass report & Conversion therapy charter with glee vs total resignation on segregation. Rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic.
