1/ The X account of Milo Lompar, one of the prominent faces of the student protests in Serbia and a regular speaker at their rallies, had this to share after Ratko Mladić's death. The problem with the Serbian student movement isn't just that they are also nationalists - they are dumb as a rock. ⬇️

Escalating rage of figures like Ulf Poschardt, Douglas Murray or Rod Dreher as they absorb racist tropes of "Replacement Theory" comes from an inability to cope with a world where control of positions and power is no longer theirs by right to distribute within a socially homogenous elite conclave
Rule of law problems in Poland and Bulgaria are but the same. Using Poland to advocate for Western Balkan EU accession is wrong. Bulgaria and its western Balkan neighbours share much more in common when it comes to rule of law deficiencies - it's not about the primacy of EU law over national but 1/2

The UK and EU are cursed to be the projection space for anxious American culture warriors who quickly lose interest once European realities get too complicated to fit simple American narratives.

Film you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, Marvel, Disney, or Ghibli.
Having lived through several wars in what was once known as Yugoslavia, this was the hardest part to explain to people from "the west" - the war is awful but it's not a movie where you constantly dodge bullets and move from one underground shelter to another. Life very much goes on.
Wish more people understood this. The Ukrainian economy is functioning. Restaurants are open. You see electric cars. Factories are turning out good products, sometimes for export. The agricultural sector is huge. Ukraine is at war. But it is not a war zone. finance.liga.net/en/state-fin...

Spain are undeniable very good but their way of winning is so dull. Like spending a week watching a python digest a sheep.
And Europeans in particular need to stop assuming that there will always be an endless pool of migrants and refugees willing to move to Europe in sufficient numbers to cover widening labour market and demographic gaps. Structural trendlines are never endlessly linear.
France - England will be much better game than the finals.
I've seen here the English complaining about the quality of ITV commentary. Is this horor on BBC improvement?
