so, plants under solar panels do well, water under solar panels does well, foxes under solar panels do well, just need to put solar panels over more things
GOOD NEWS MORE SOLAR FARMS MORE FOXES
It's been ages since I posted a Delve screenshot! I've slowly, slowly been poking away at reworking how the main quest works and how the dungeon is structured. Here's the player talking to the local witch for instructions on what to do in the second stage of the quest. (First draft of the dialogue)
lol my credit card provider flagged my card for a 'suspicious' charge (a Kickstarter pledge being fulfilled) and called me, but their automated call sounded like most low-effort, low-budget scam call. "Your [Provider] Visa has been flagged for fraudulent activity. Press 1 now to speak to an agent."

Got to dip my toe this evening into Big Walk with @kymira.ca and her wife and it is as delightful as everyone says. I feel like we just started to scratch the surface and the game is just suffused with joy!
I, I don't even see the ASCII anymore...
it’s really remarkable how consistent the proportion of print vs ebook sales have stayed, just looked at the numbers from 2013 which were pretty much the same
Some positive publishing news to counter some of the doomerism: total book sales, and adult fiction specifically, increased in 2025. Print was 73% of market and digital audio/ebook 22%. (I guess the remaining is physical audio?) www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/...
Turbo Pascal really truly amazing; I don't think I would have fully embraced programmer without it
we should have stopped here 😔
Winnipeg’s Exchange District is experiencing a renaissance, with many new shops, restaurants, and cafés opening up. The area was buzzing last night for First Fridays, where everything stays open late. Exciting to see.
Yesterday's stage (Mâcon to Belleville-en-Beaujolais) was a hilly route and it was 37 Celsius D: Youtube is full of clips of riders at the finish just kind of falling off their bikes going, "Fuck...fuuuck..." brutal
Youtube offered me a bunch of Tour de France Femme content so I guess I'm a Tour Femme fan now! Today's stage was wild -- totally mind-boggling :o
My phone is complaining about how it doesn’t have enough space to install an update but more than half my storage space is the OS and system data 😤
LRT: new bookstore in Winnipeg!! Right downtown! I'm going to go check them out on Friday. I hope they thrive!
This is open today! I had the privilege of visiting and the impossible task of not buying one of everything. A truly magical place! 🌈
Introducing, coming to Winnipeg this summer: Other Places Books. A bookstore specializing in science fiction and fantasy. opbooks.store
i’m never gonna be able to fire a cruise missile yet the question of using my tax dollars for them has never been up for debate
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
NEW: Big new feature from me about offshore wind farms as anchors for wildlife! For example: seals swimming *into* turbine towers to, apparently, hunt fish - and scour protection at the base of turbines used by sea creatures as a dwelling place. atmos.earth/science-and-...

Offshore wind farms can pose risks to birds and marine life. But their foundations also serve as artificial reefs, offering essential habit.

The NDP stands in solidarity with WestJet workers on strike, fighting to end unpaid work. Join us in calling on the federal government to respect these workers' right to strike!
Do I think Poilievre cares about labour rights on the whole? Of course not. The man has never shown himself to be concerned about the rights of workers. But I do think it's a reaaaally bad sign when he has better messaging on labour rights than our supposed Liberal Prime Minister.
Pay airline workers for 'every minute they work': Poilievre
'This isn't a vacation for them…airlines should be paying their flight attendants from the time they show up to work to the time they leave,' Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre told reporters on Fri...

Parents are fed up with friends and relatives giving their kids “personalized” AI-generated storybooks with characters resembling their kids. Apart from data privacy concerns, literacy experts say these garbled and convoluted narratives could be an impediment to learning how to read.
