“AI is finally democratizing art!” You cannot democratize art if the process includes stealing art and livelihoods from real working artists and regurgitating derivative slop to benefit corporate greed and corruption.

As Nonbinary Awareness Week comes to an end, if you're sitting on a book, comic, any kind of story idea with a nonbinary MC, and don't think anyone would be interested in it... One thing I've learned from my readers is there are people out there desperate to be able to see themselves in something.

This is a very good thread. Apropos of crit in any creative (or just any) context, not just writing. I saw plenty of the disabling critique in arch school, and the damage it wrought on students, directly or collaterally. One additional thing I’d add is to ensure the wording of the feedback …

When you (an editor or a critique partner or a classmate) comment on someone's writing, you can absolutely deal them a disabling injury if you're thoughtless about it. I'm not saying anyone should be dishonest or refrain from pointing out issues. I'm saying

Many people with cars want to repress acknowledging the logic that car-ownership is not just convenient and pleasant but actually essential for any kind of good life is pretty dehumanizing to people who medically cannot drive, and results in us receiving significant condescension and disregard

The War on Cars@thewaroncars.bsky.social · 3w ago

Nobody disputes that having access to a car in a car-dominated society is good. It gives one access to jobs, healthcare, food, education, social opportunities and more. All we're asking is for people to go one step deeper and ask why access to such basic rights requires buying and operating a car.

Happy Nonbinary People's Awareness Week! 💛🤍💜🖤 To celebrate, I did this art of Cass, the nonbinary main character of my comic Neon Pantheon. If you are looking for a cosmic action-adventure romance with a nonbinary lead - It can be read at neonpantheoncomic.com!

A brightly colored digitally illustrated artwork of a character posed against a purple background. The character has white curly hair, and wears a brightly colored and eclectic outfit, with purple, white, yellow, black and pink colors.

Officially looking for work for August and beyond! Please get in touch if you'd like me to draw your short comic/comic cover/album cover or other things of that nature! Shoot me a DM or email elaine AT cuckoosnestpress DOT com

Reposting again. I'm trying to save a little for when I get my pay check cause I need to pay for a new idea in order to have the proper info for changing my name on my birth certificate. Also I need to finish a whole thing with temporary coverage from when I was off of work after surgery.

New Commission Price Sheet. I'm still taking donations to help me financially recover after surgery and make it to my next pay check if people want to help that way as well. I'm also gonna try to update my portfolio this weekend. www.gofundme.com/f/support-ro...

Urban trees aren’t just nice, scientists say — they’re mandatory. "As mayors...pledge to reduce municipal greenhouse gas emissions, they’re missing the low-hanging fruit of bolstering urban forests...We have to elevate it from something that is nice to have to something that we require." t.ly/T_Rld

Art reveal for my new YA cozy fantasy that blends the magical prose & romance of Once Upon A Broken Heart with a snug town that'll remind you of Gilmore Girls' Stars Hollow. Meet Atticus & Dawn 🖤 He's a squire training to become a knight ⚔️ She's the ghost haunting his manor 👻

In a fictional world reminiscent of semi-occupied India, court musician, Aneesa, plays pretty melodies by night and plots her revenge on the governor by day. Falling in love with a runaway princess with her own secrets is just a misstep, but it might be one that proves fatal. #QueerPit #F #A #FR

vainika sitting with her veena in a purple dress, music notes float around her

SNIPPET:Vikram smiled, grin salacious as the singer rose. He gestured impatiently to the servant at his side who produced an opal the size of a child’s fist.

Courtiers nearby gasped and applauded, and the singer looked like she might faint. This jewel could feed her gharana for a year— maybe even two.

But my jaw clenched. The mahal did nothing out of pure altruism. I knew this better than most. There was always a price in the Vajra court.

Music is honesty, Aneesa-jaan. My mother’s words were like a balm from all those years ago. In its discipline, you can find truth. And I was doing just that. My veena was my weapon. My disguise as I sought to expose the Vajran Court’s underbelly. Maa might have never intended for me to use it this way, but she wasn’t here anymore. So who was to stop me?
