Update: scE2G is now online at Nature Genetics! Since the preprint, we added a new benchmark on a fully held-out CRISPR dataset. scE2G continues to show state-of-the-art performance, reinforcing that it generalizes well nature.com/articles/s41588-026-02695-8 1/

Held-out CRISPR benchmark: n=189 positives, 4,175 tested pairs from 5 cell types. Weighted AUPRC bar chart with scE2G-Multiome and scE2G-ATAC highest, above Distance to TSS, ABC, and 8 other single-cell methods.

A mouse model study, published in Nature Biomedical Engineering, reports that treating induced pluripotent stem cells with Norrin and vitronectin produces retinal-like endothelial cells capable of regenerating retinal vasculature. 🧪

Treatment of induced pluripotent stem cells with Norrin and vitronectin, and subsequent cell sorting and maturation, generates retinal-like endothelial cells that can regenerate retinal vasculature in an oxygen-induced retinopathy mouse and recapitulate enhanced inner blood–retinal barrier properties when co-cultured with retinal-like pericytes.

The STED-EC atlas enables inter-organ and multi-time-point comparisons of gene expression in endothelial cells, revealing substantial transcriptomic variations across endothelial cells from different embryonic organs and facilitating investigation of previously unknown molecular mechanisms that govern organ-specific vascular development.

New preprint on technologies to scale up CRISPR screens. We use them to map 665,856 pairwise genetic perturbations and outline a path to comprehensive interaction mapping in human cells. We also introduce an approach for cloning lentiviral libraries with billions of elements.
