www.theatlantic.com/national-sec... I find comfort in the idea that, one day, there will be college courses dedicated to this odd convergence of humanity and technology. I like to imagine that the #Iran-AI-Legos will be on the curriculum.

BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide. This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

The far right may have declared open season on the sisterhood, but countless Black women are out here upskilling and sharpening the tools in our proverbial kits. Journaling, paper planning, *praying,* meditating, eating clean, getting our steps in, hydrating... I would *not *want to be them. 😬

If you’re telling Head Start programs they can’t say “disability”, “Black”, “female”, or “Tribal” in order to get funded—you don’t care about kids. Period. This administration is attacking the very protections that keep children safe and supported. Our kids are not political props.

Got emotional reading a passage about a little Black girl who wants to grow up to be a Dodger just like Jackie Robinson and thinks that Harriet Tubman looks like she had a good throwing arm I want Black kids to live in a world where those are the connections they are invited to make

You were incredible, Alice Wong, and it was a blessing to have collaborated with you on projects, to have read your words and to have heard your voice, as full of life and passion and joy and rage as it was. You made a difference—so much of a difference. Rest always in peace, and always in power.

This is Alice's friend Sandy Ho, posting.

Per Alice's wishes, this message is being shared at the time of her passing.

Hi everyone, it looks like I ran out of time. I have so many dreams that wanted to fulfill and plans to create new stories for you. There are a few in progress that might come to fruition in a few years if things work out. I did not ever imagine I would live to this age and end up a writer, editor, activist, and more. As a kid riddled with insecurity and internalized ableism, I could not see a path forward. It was thanks to friendships and some great teachers who believed in me that I was able to fight my way out of miserable situations into a place where I finally felt comfortable in my skin.
We need more stories about us and our culture.
You all, we all, deserve the everything and more in such a hostile, ableist environment. Our wisdom is incisive and unflinching. I'm honored to be your ancestor and believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I love you all.

When talking about SNAP/WIC and any other program please don't use what is or isn't happening in YOUR specific state as universal truth. Some states will step in and cover costs... Others won't.
