Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.
Look, I'm not saying there's something deeply, deeply shifty about padel, but this story really isn't helping...

When a writer is interviewed about their book, they're usually asked how they came up with the idea for the plot or the characters or the world, etc. & asked what sort of mental hopscotch they went through. If you used AI, your answer will be so fucking boring!
I'm convinced that many people are just looking for excuses to attack someone for their pain - ranging from actual trauma to butthurt inconvenience. Oddly, those with actual trauma don't seem to be lashing out in the same direction as those butthurt.

...and they chose judges who have appallingly poor judgement, which is something you might expect to be a pre-requisite for the activity of... judging. Ah, whatever, maybe that's just me. I'm expecting far too much from people, clearly.

If you are more angry with Amnesty than with JKR, you might need to give your head a wobble, and research precisely what defines a SLAPPer.
People grappling with these things really need to also grapple with the questions around what are the real costs of running a billion token query? If you aren't an inside reasearched, getting them for "free", what would it cost (at a level the provider actually makes a profit)?
Alejandra Caraballo@esqueer.net · 5d agoPeople need to grapple with the fact that LLMs are now solving for mathematical conjectures that are decades/centuries old. The common sentiment on here is that they're absolutely useless and are always wrong but that is becoming increasingly separated from reality. This is just the last 2 months.

So it's been known that AI companies are bulk buying, scanning and destroying books on a mind-boggling scale for a bit, but it's kind of exploded the last couple of days. Which makes it incredibly on-the-nose that my friend got this book yesterday. I highly recommend you read it to find out why.

Pathetic! The man has no ambition. I read The Hobbit when I was 6, LotR when I was seven. Oh, and I still read comics and graphic novels to this day, including Bunny Vs. Monkey and Looshkin, thank you very much.

This is 100% true. Camden council tried to get me to accept an 8x2m "flat" in a different borough, run by criminals, who were charging EXACTLY the max for LHA in London (~£1470pcm) The legal minimum for a studio flat is about 28m².
