Stolen valor from Mr. Bone Spurs. An insult to every man and woman who has worn the uniform.

A wealth tax is common sense, not rocket science. Of course people - including millionaires like us - overwhelmingly support it. £24bn a year for our country could be raised with a tiny 2% tax on wealth over £10m. It's time to #TaxTheSuperRich
Neil Kinnock has urged Andy Burnham to increase tax on assets as a new poll reveals two-thirds of voters back the introduction of a “wealth tax” Read more: trib.al/jhQxnU0

If we don't drill for oil and gas in the UK then we will continue to import both of these from Europe and America because we will still have millions of petrol and diesel cars and still have millions of gas boilers. It will take a long time to change all this over. We need decarbonisation.
Right now, with climate fuelled droughts and wildfires raging across Europe and North America, how can any sane and responsible person even consider drilling for more of the stuff that is killing our planet?

In January, I stopped using X as a communication channel because the platform facilitated the creation of illegal and deeply harmful images by its AI tool, Grok. I am renewing my call for all governmental and parliamentary communications to stop using X. The platform continues to facilitate
Evidence of the great benefits of AI: it used to take a huge amount of time and effort to make yourself look this stupid; now AI allows you to humiliate yourself almost instantly.
The State Department said it takes "full responsibility" for "hastily" altering and then presenting a map of Africa at a global AIDS conference that mislabeled every single country it highlighted. An analysis by Reuters found a watermark in the map image that suggests it was made with OpenAI.
Alongside Imran Hussain MP and over 80 MPs and Lords, I recently wrote to the Foreign Secretary calling for comprehensive sanctions on Israel. The world’s top court is clear. Israel’s occupation of Palestine is illegal - and Governments must act now to end it!
Govt planning c. 100 new data centres by early 2030s, mostly in already water stressed areas. They have no legal obligation to disclose how much water they use. Meanwhile Govt launches £75m publicity campaign to urge us to reduce water use & privatised water companies waste 19% thro leaks. Madness

This is good, but it would be much better if the new Government of Andy Burnham overturned this ridiculous law The law is unjust, and leads to a colossal waste of police and court time. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The UK's highest court gives Palestine Action permission to appeal the government's proscription of the group under anti-terrorism legislation.

It's depressing that this moved me so much, but did. First time I've heard a politician praise a group of immigrants, without caveat, for a long while.
Andy Burnham, "To me, carers should be the best paid people in society, not the worst" "Many people from other countries have been caring for my dad" Andy Burnham praises migrants to the UK who care for our elderly, a stark contrast to Keir-island-of-strangers-Starmer
Given our consistent engagement on the adult social care crisis and willingness to work together to solve it, it's deeply disappointing that the Greens weren't invited to today's cross-party talks. We need all hands on deck to tackle this issue - the Greens remain ready to work cross-party to do so.

Just loving how John Cleese, now reduced to one of his own caricatures, rages about immigrants coming to the UK and failing to accept "our" culture, from his home in ... (checks notes) ... Nevis in the Caribbean.
Sorry whoops, didn't mean to post this there. It's deleted now
Hi David, did you mean to repond to us? I'm not sure how this is relevant to our advice on responding to the MRHA consultation about whether to demolish our community building, which isn't in the council's hands.
Keon homes describe this site as derelict brownfield. I can just see a wildflower meadow as well as very tall beech trees. Perhaps they need a trip to Specsavers ?

A person with enough income to get a mortgage on a £800,000 flat in Hove may not be very aware of people who struggle to pay for ever increasing rents

And it's an increasingly dangerous world in a large part due to the hegseth. Streeting is not fit to be minister of defence, he's not fit to be any minister.

No arrivals by small boats for the last 10 days now. As of yesterday, 12,469 people had arrived so far this year across the Channel, down over 11,000 (47%) on the same time last year. More than 10% down on 2023 as well, which was when crossings were, by comparison to other years, lower.
Crikey! We used to frequent the Warehouse regularly when we lived in The Midlands. I even celebrated my MA graduation with a meal in the old upstairs cafe many years ago. I hope the new Green-led City Council will support you.
