Sure, it's annoying to have to wait out a hold on a library book, but in a world where we're being told people are stupid and they don't read, how amazing is it that there are 7-100 people in your community RIGHT NOW wanting to read the same book as you?

Thank you so much to the local Indy businesses for providing these packets for free, and to the volunteers who buy or print the whistles, create the zines, and assemble everything. Proud of all of you. It's the kind of activism and mutual aid we need.

A clear Ziploc plastic bag standing against a large blue planter. Inside the bag is a small black-and-white zine with an illustration of a whistle above a crowd of raised hands and the large text, “FORM A CROWD STAY LOUD.” In front of the zine is a bright orange 3D-printed whistle.

Rather than going after the tactics of progressives this morning, establishment Dems ought to ask why in so many places so many people are rejecting their policies and seeking people-oriented solutions and candidates who are willing and able to fight for them better than the old guard has been.

Helped a family member w/ yardwork. Her first home. The yard was terribly overgrown. I'll have to return to cut more random mulberries, Virginia Creeper, and California Privet, which is thriving! I love being in Bloomington in summer. Ate at The 'Spoon' for breakfast for dinner, which was the move.

Our neighborhood has always had red shouldered hawks, which sound cool and majestic. Two weeks ago a red tailed hawk moved in. He sounds like a deranged seagull and literally never shuts the fuck up. I named him Tua. My husband immediately said “you named the hawk ‘Tua’?” and I laughed and laughed.

Hired a contractor to replace the front door of the house. I also scheduled a grocery delivery. The delivery guy hit my car! The two guys the door guy brought with him left when they realized the cops were coming. Understandable. Now I have no door and a scratched-to-shit EV. It's been a morning

Whoever came up with the idea of shrink-wrapping the individual batteries shipped with timers, clocks, etc., is now probably the head of the Environmental Protection Agency in this regime.

Some evil dipshits stole the 2022 historic marker commemorating the origins of LGBTQ+ Pride in Indiana. It was located downtown on Monument Circle in Indianapolis. Bad news, phobes: LGBTQ+ Hoosiers have always existed in our state - and always will.

The text of this side of the marker says, "Until the 1980s, most LGBTQ Hoosiers socialized privately due to safety concerns. In 1984, police harassment and surveillance of gay men in Indianapolis spurred hundreds to gather at Monument Circle in a show of solidarity against discrimination. While gatherings helped ignite the local liberation movement, Hoosiers celebrated Pride Week quietly until 1990."

My wish for today is that you write something with your human brain. I don't care if it's a grocery list, an email, a letter to your cat or a poem about cookies. Writing is so uniquely human and magical and it should be celebrated.
