This plane landed in Myanmar about three hours ago. This is the third ICE flight to Myanmar this year. Burmese deportees in 2025 were immediately sent to a torture facility next to the airport, according to Myanmar Now. Weeks later, not all of them had emerged.

My (cynical) working theory is that the White House knows that its "AI Framework" is basically a much worse version than the AI framework the Biden admin released, which caused the VC bros of Silicon Valley to go all MAGA. Keeping it private avoids the comparison.

Also 1) Survivor bias - there was crap in the past too, but no one saved Dad’s busted toaster. 2) Richer society -> each discretionary purchase is a less precious decision -> less need to ensure product will be durable for repeated use -> consume more via cheap stuff vs of less via good stuff.

1) Voters don’t care if they pass a CR. 2) Voters may care if there’s a shutdown. 3) Shutdown distracts from war, affordability, and corruption issues that favor Ds. 4) Ds can peel off some lame duck Rs to buck POTUS to get a better CR and take some issues off the table (which also helps 2027 Rs).
