We are the catboys, mister | draws vampires, psychopomps, & bloody creatures (18+ only) | they/them

In the transphobic narrative gender-conservatives traffick in, the transfeminine spectre is a rapacious other while the transmasculine is a corrupted innocence. The dehumanization of both is distinct but linked; transmasculine people are regendered as a patriarchal resource to be protected.

The funeral is in two days. I don’t know his family, they’re a little homophobic, and the background situation is…labyrinthine. I’m hoping it’ll be more connective/grounding than alienating/combative.

Really I just wish everyone a creative life so long and fruitful that they end up producing a work as insane as the last three books of the Vampire Chronicles.

It’s a pretty cruel joke that my boyfriend was killed the day before bi visibility day. He’d definitely say “If only I’d been visible to that driver!” or some shit like that about it.

The photos you were shown in school of Nazi book burnings are from the raid on the Institute for Sexual Science. They were burning us, our history, our belonging in this world. It is still burning. You either choose to help put out the fire or accept it.

Nazi book burning

idk, no one I knew who graduated into software/tech positions from undergrad made near that much money 10 years ago (~140k was highest). I'm not arguing over the claim that congressional reps should be paid any particular amount, but ime this is an extremely exaggerated equivalence.

It's actually extremely bad that congressional reps are paid less today than a baby new grad software engineer made in their first year (well, year and a day so their first year of stock vested) out of college 15 years ago. It's a big part of *why* the corruption became normalized!

A bluesky post:

"It’s insane that people in Congress are paid over $174K a year in taxpayer dollars whilst making millions of dollars from insider trading whilst getting 18 vacations a year as Americans all over the country struggle to pay for rent, gas and groceries."
