One thing that came out this week that I am fixating on is that the rate for people actively working or seeking employment is at 61.5% 780,000 people gave up in June. Lowest rate of people in the job market since 1976 other than the brief spike in 2020 during the Covid mass layoffs.

I had to call up the internet provider because my internet wasn't working and the customer service guy just stopped in the middle of the call and said, "You know, you're really nice. I really appreciate you being so nice and polite." What kind of monsters have hurt these poor people?

Repeating myself, but in the 30 years I've spent with steady employment and a modest middle class life (excepting my impoverished college days), I have never found it as hard to make ends meet as right now. Food and fuel prices are ballooning cost of living way out of line with wages.
