Closing the digital divide! Spectrum! A world without Alzheimer's & all other forms of dementia! National Treasurer & Board Member, Alzheimer's Association & Chair of the Board of the National Capital Area Chapter. #endalz

Son of a lifelong CBS exec here. My dad kept a picture of Murrow in his office & worked on Cronkite's team for years. He & his colleagues excelled by getting the news on the air first & getting it right. Laying off employees, keeping stories off the air & cheering a fascist President is not OK.

CBS News employees received the following message from Bari Weiss and Tom Cibrowski informing them that massive layoffs are taking place.

Great meeting w/@repaprildelaney.bsky.social to discuss Alzheimer's-- bills to require Medicare to cover Alzheimer's blood tests (H.R. 6130), to educate clinicians on Alzheimer's (H.R. 3747), & for a tax credit for caregivers (H.R. 2036). Looking forward to working w/her on these bills. #endalz

Advocacy always feels good. Today, I testified yet again to the DC Council Health Committee, this time pushing for a law to require DC clinicians to get training on the new developments re Alzheimer's. So necessary to get early detection, so DC residents can get treatments. More to come. #endalz

I will be testifying yet again to the DC Council Health Committee on Alzheimer's. This time, my focus will be on improving the training of DC healthcare providers so they are aware of recent developments & can make an early diagnosis in time to provide treatment options. #endalz

Outrageous that the NIH Director is turning our nation's medical research agency into an arm of the ultra right wing political movement. The Alzheimer's community counts on NIH to lead the world in finding a cure, but his stated goal is to drive ultra right wing science denial. So bad. #endalz

“I want the NIH to be a central driver of the MAHA agenda,” Bhattacharya said. “Essentially, it's kind of the research arm of MAHA.” NIH is not an ideological toy or 'arm'. We must insist on its scientific independence, especially if its Director will not. 🚨 www.dukechronicle.com/article/duke...

It's hard to fathom all the outrages we are living through, but the one below stands out- so far, 1.5 million people have lost their health insurance due to Trump's initiative to destroy the ACA. And, that number is going to grow once people have to start making payments at the exorbitant prices.

Larry Levitt@larrylevitt.bsky.social · 7mo ago

The federal government has announced that 22.8 million people have signed up for ACA marketplace coverage for this year, down 1.5 million from last year with enhanced tax credits expiring. The coverage loss will likely grow as people don’t actually make their premium payments.

So proud of @kim.senate.gov for speaking out about Alzheimer's and caregiving. Exactly, it shouldn't be this hard. When my wife & I were knocking on doors for Andy in NJ in November 2018, we knew he was special. Thank you so much @kim.senate.gov. You are one of us. #endalz

Since my father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis, I have asked myself the kinds of questions about caregiving that too many Americans are forced to ask. It shouldn’t be this hard.
