Instantly backed this. The version I played at HistCon North this summer was excellent and apparently it continues to be improved by the team. We'll have episode of @decisionspace.bsky.social tomorrow with @colewehrle.bsky.social talking about the economic/business game heritage of this one.

When I first got this game I only reached for it at the upper end of the player count because it is the rare game that can play 6. What I missed is how great it plays at 4, where it still has the core donkey space scramble fun, but also engages my strategy brain in a much more satisfying way. -Jake

New @decisionspace.bsky.social is a deep dive on Paolo Mori's 2012 classic Libertalia with a focus on @stonemaiergames.com 2022 reimplementation. We also chat about how new editions of old games can give a design a modern refresh, but sometimes result in bloat. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/n...

Who, What, When, Why, Where, and How can each be the central question of a game. We discuss how (and why) these central questions impact a games decision space. It’s a good episode!

In this week's @decisionspace.bsky.social we explore what the central question of a game can be: Who can I trust? What option is better? When should I pivot? Where should I place this? Why did they do that? How do I pull off this gambit? podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

This was my fourth Gen Con and by far the best time I’ve ever had at a big convention. It felt a bit like summer camp seeing all the friends I’ve made over the years. It was also my first Gen Con as a published designer. Here are a few highlights:

Y’all know about the Salomon Scale, but have you heard about the Wissinger Wave? 🌊 📈 We’ve experienced just a bit of growth over these past 18-months with Paul and Pete in the mix. Let’s give @petewiss.bsky.social some flowers for all he’s done for DS! IYKYK🌹 Paul and Brendan are cool too -Jake

Thanks so much for coming on the show @colewehrle.bsky.social. Listening generated so many thoughts for me about play, design, and being a kid. Our listeners are in for a treat. I also liked the part where you don’t know @petewiss.bsky.social designed a Balatro inspired game! 😅😂 -Jake

On this week's @decisionspace.bsky.social we have a wild conversation about the descriptor "Euro" in our hobby. What does it mean today? What did it mean in the past? By the end we maybe ended up more confused than when we started, but we def had a good time! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/w...

Today is the first of our annual Top 10 games of all time countdown on @decisionspace.bsky.social . I think these sorts of episodes can get repetitive so this year I excluded from consideration games that I haven't played more than once in the last 365 days. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/o...
