Every time I think about Challengers (the movie, not the board game, but both are great), I think about how Mike Faist had, by far, the most challenging role of the three leads and put in the most impressive performance of the three leads. It’s a shame he doesn’t get his flowers for it.

One time I had an order delivered to a hotel and it arrived at a different building entirely that was across the street and around the corner. I was not thrilled but I zooooomed out and came to the conclusion “It’s okay if whitey has a bad day sometimes”
My room temp and correct take on tipping is that if you make a comfortable living you tip servers always and you tip them well because who the fuck do you think you are
Jeff Probst, long time host of Survivor and board game designer (?) doesn’t have a picture on his BGG designer page. But y’know who does? This guy.
One of the most emotionally gratifying, exciting, and, funny play experiences I can remember having. If you get the opportunity to play it at some con or another, take it.

There's tons of tabletop game design advice out there now. Some is valuable. Much of it is well intentioned but unhelpful "best practices" served as gospel. The most recent video from @beyondsolitaire.bsky.social feels vital in a way this space rarely sees. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRFY...

A man who publicly was doing something which, when done wrong, can cause graft-vs-host disease, an autoimmune disease which can attack, among other things, your GI tract, now has an autoimmune disease which is attacking his GI tract. What a coincidence.

What is the definitive game about America?
I think a lot of people are going to be, understandably, caught up in the puzzles in and around @amabel.bsky.social ‘s Swords Against, but, for me, the writing is what’s caught me the hardest. The first thing I was drawn to was the unsealed letter and it feels so warm and so real and so lovely.
This is a very sweet thread, and this particular part of it really struck me. I really do think we put too much stock in keeping things pristine that were never meant to be kept pristine.
At no point in this task did I regret not sleeving this game. I love that I could see how the years weighed on this game. They've weighed on me too!

Rick Warren being on this list is wasn’t shocking so much as it was confounding. Peter Thiel and his ilk caring about including him in something like this in the 2020’s is both confusing and very funny.

This was an instant buy from me from the moment it was announced. I love Amabel’s writing, and I’m excited to see what she’s done with a more fictive frame. If you like the video games of @mrsambarlow.bsky.social , this seems like a great entry into physical games of a similar spirit.
