I saw the trailer and assumed this was a The Lobster kind of deal where you're just supposed to go with it and you do because it's a movie. I didn't know they had so much lore around fuck mechanics
i'm locked in on this film sorry to anyone else

Made that bisexual lowfi dating sim. No, the other one. Watches too many horror flicks.

I can say without a doubt that AI has made me so much more successful at my job. People tell me how attentive to detaiI and how human my writing is and I say "Thanks, that's because I am actually reading and responding to all of them without AI!"
Guys like this don’t realize that they are the freak
If you loved the first bit of Grandia's spirit of adventure as much as I do, I think we'll both enjoy London Spirit Detectives for PS1. Looks and sounds adorable. Another no-AI translation (tools included) hot off the presses. 🔥
I am very proud to announce that our English translation patch of London Spirit Detectives is now done and released on GitHub. Thanks to aishsha, bigbanana23, Cash Ogawa, Pennywise, Ryusui, TheMajinZenki and vervalkon What a wonderful project! See reply for details.
Here's a full demo. It's close to being ready but there's One More Thing I need to get done...
Interactive fiction ereader update! Eenk now supports images (both inlined in the story, and as cover/thumbnail). All from a standard ink file that the IDE compiles in one click and can transfer to the device via USB :)
Some fresh positive news in fan translations. The GitHub makes it clear no LLM/AI involved at all from tools to the script.

I'm trembling while writing this: Kamaitachi no yoru—not the PC remake, not the iOS port, but the actual original SFC version—has been translated at last by ButThouMust, who graciously brought us an English patch for Otogirisou in the past. This is HISTORICAL.
Got a lot of respect for any indie game dev/studio that follows up their big crossover success with the latest in their long-running niche pet franchise. Like going "Huh, neat! Now we can get back to the usual but louder this time."
Now that the Rumors Update has brought Scarlet Hollow's content up to a million words of branching dialogue, we'll be increasing the game's price to $29.99 on August 13th. This will be Scarlet Hollow's ~final~ price increase. If you've yet to pick it up, there's no better time!
One of those things that isn't terrible advice if it came from, like, your uncle, but awful to hear from someone nominally supposed to be helping run a country. Like if you were bleeding out and all the EMT did was say "put some pressure on it" before driving off.
RFK Jr. suggests Americans can more easily afford groceries if they start eating liver instead of beef: "Most of the cheap cuts of meat are very inexpensive. ... You can buy liver"
Just watched a movie in which a man’s dead wife montage ends in the wife actually exploding. It’s Darkdrive (1997) and it was so straight-to-DVD core that it’s actually the first DVD released in the UK.
If we're being technical, it's a 2025 release that it stateside this year. However: I do not care. It is fight scene perfection, every scene building on the last until a final five-way brawl that had me smiling so hard my face hurt. Whole crowd was hooting and hollering. Violence lovers rejoice.
Name your fav film of 2026 so far.
It's not enough to be against AI, you need to be pro art. You need to be a champion of the art you love, you need to share that passion and joy, and do what you can to support the artists who make it, because it's not enough to hate AI, to hate what it's doing to art and media; you gotta love.
Film you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, Marvel, Disney, or Ghibli. Fun fact: this is where my old discord name/the name I enter fighting game locals in (FondLobstah) comes from.

My first anime con was a very small local one, we're talking "rent out a couple conference rooms in the hotel because we won't fill the full thing" small. At this point anime fandom was still very much subculture, so as a young teen just being surrounded by that many people into anime was wonderful.
OK, we've had the talk about bullying and the discourse that's been bubbling today. Let's do something positive: What as your coolest, most favorite experience as an anime fan? Doesn't have to be anything special, just has to be something that you remember fondly.
Missed one of the last big discourse things on this site because the progenitor seems to have me preemptively blocked, leaving only the ripples for me to see. And I gotta say: good shit. More annoying people should block me.
Talking movies with someone at my office who's been there for over a year but I'd previously said maybe eight words tops to, she opened with "Yeah, I'll watch anything but really I just love violence." Finally someone else gets it!
"I'm gonna watch an action movie." - normal statement "I'm gonna watch a horror movie." - equally normal statement "I'm gonna go watch a violent movie." - apparently not normal, despite being implied to various degrees in strength in the previous two statements.
Another day in the King of the Hill reboot writers room. As I walk in, I write "Peggy Hill Onlyfans Footgirl Arc" on the whiteboard. This time, it's gone before lunch. I will never stop fighting for you, America.
Goddamn the pictured post just kinda hit me like a cruise missile
saw this earlier and it genuinely broke my heart i'm not AMAB for the record but every nonbinary person deserves to belong in queer spaces
Shin Megami Tensei Opening Monologue Voice: I'll create a world ruled by strength. If someone has a small dog and you want it, all you have to do is pick that good boy up and he's yours.
The fruit basket! Featuring: Grey with a white spot: Guava. Grey: Kiwi Black and white: Mango
I wonder if it would be possible to release a game directly to MyAbandonware dot com
This is an incredibly useful resource.
late night post: I wrote a fairly long article quite awhile ago (auratriolo.com/blog/2024/09...) on why you might submit to the Independent Games Festival. Today I present something a bit more specific: Advice on navigating the submissions interface and common pitfalls auratriolo.com/blog/2026/07...
Not saying I wish it wasn't the case but it boggles my mind that "raw dog" has been divorced from the sexual connotation enough to be a thing you can say at work. "Hey nice going on that presentation. Wait, you did that with no notes? Wow, you really just fucked that one without a condom."
Need to emphasize that when I say something is "anime as fuck" I mean less that it's got a specific aesthetic style and more that it's got characters getting very emotional about something before doing the coolest and most ridiculous thing you've ever seen cut to an alt-rock remix of the main theme.
Wrote and deleted like five different posts about *upcoming superhero crossover blockbuster* before deciding that said property has spent the past seven or so years loudly communicating it is not for me. And as such it's best that I just say "fair enough" and see something different.
