Horribly irresponsible drinking game, drink any time one of us says the word "visceral" in this episode - difficulty: fatal.
New podcast! In light of the sad passing of National Treasure Sam Neill, the only appropriate response is to talk about what is possibly his weirdest role in "Possession" (1981). The wonderful @liz-shrikestudio.bsky.social and @eerieseymour.bsky.social join me to discuss the horrible worm (divorce)!

The Odyssey was fun but oh my god they did not hit the landing. Fucking hell. Properly tanked it. Ow.

in video games the word "survival" means clearcutting a forest to build a fortress and "cozy" means starting a small business so you can eventually earn enough money to clearcut a forest and build a fortress

OK, let's start the search. Adrienne Shaw is on the lookout for two titles of early LGBTQ software that predate Caper in the Castro. One is called VAPOR PALACE. The other features Tom of Finland art but has no discovered name yet. The search is on - if you know more details or... have a copy? ping.
imagine if they fired every band member every time an album came out
Working at a AAA studio can come with some cool perks, but it’s not “an honor” it’s not something you “get” to do. As game devs of all stripes we have professional skill sets that we are paid for, that’s it. The studio needs us as a labor force more than we need it.
You must forgive me for not writing for so long, but I just wanted to be on my own for a couple of years or so.
The old games industry is dying. The new games industry is struggling to be born. Now is the time of absolutely batshit corporate decision-making.
