Recently it was “oh no DEI.” Five years ago they were obsessed with willfully misunderstanding Critical Race Theory and using it as a catch-all for giving a shit. Ten years ago it was just Diverse. Ten years before that it was Political Correctness.
Aside from having its meaning bastardized, the discourse on the colloquial Woke is so frustrating because it’s not like this is the very first time right-wingers have been like Oh No, People Care About Oppression. We do this over and over and over.
