If you stream, you may wanna toggle this off. Not that it probably matters cos these cunts will train their fascist machine regardless. But figured you'd like to know, at least.

It will be worse than this! Most websites will be forced to ask you to send your ID to a third party surveillance service, adding a credit card won't be enough for most. Bluesky asks for your *social security number* if you live in Texas now, due to this shit. Call in, and kill it.

This will be the US if the SCREEN Act passes. Call your Senators before August 5 and tell them that you oppose the SCREEN Act, KOSA, and the KIDS Act. Use the official lookup tool at www.senate.gov/senators/sen... to find yours by state.

Unions are a great way to help developers, but how can regular fans help? Just remember the one-two punch! 1. Support games developed by unionized devs! (An easy way to find out is to look up Studio+Union) 3. Circulate pro-union material (like this post) and keep the conversation alive!

Hey y'all, I wanted give people a heads-up that Mike Z is still working on the Avatar Legends dev team, for anyone who wanted to know before deciding whether to buy/support the game. (If you don't know who that is or need a refresher, here's the Kotaku article: kotaku.com/workers-leav...)

Back in June, two people came forward to share their experiences with Mike “Mike Z” Zaimont, longtime fighting game player and lead developer behind indie

Hey! This will probably get me in trouble but we should normalize talking about salaries. At my last job, I was paid $140K. I felt underpaid, but we were a small indie team and I was working with friends. When I found out one of the other engineers was getting paid half that, I was furious.

Just gonna put it here publicly so I can reference it in the future and not waste time: My starting rate is $120/hr (or $20000/mo). For friends, or for games I really want to work on, I'll go down to $90/hr (or $15000/mo). My salary is lower but then you gotta cover healthcare/taxes.

People highlight those leaving the industry and those trying to break in, but I also think an unspoken part of this is even the 2/3 still working are in a worse state; some being overworked to take on the duties of those cut or forced into lower paying unstable contracts with less benefits.
