This reminds me of how annoying it is (to me, personally) when the film/TV adaptation is too faithful to the text. I tried reading the Slow Horses books after watching the show and couldn't because it appeared to be a scene by scene adaptation. I already knew everything!

I also hope this shows a lot of people who love one specific franchise and hate one specific adaptation that changes to the work are supposed to be half the point of adaptation, rather than just decisions made at random. "It's not accurate to the text" is a valid criticism, but rarely a good one.
