I Say "Hell Yeah!" too much and I dont plan on changing that. Hobbyist Gamedev and 3D Artist. Making a Pinball game.

Hit by a Truck and sent to another world?! Carissa has a plan! Help the Buff Elf Lady (former Head of Marketing), who you hit with your truck, return home by...hitting more people with your truck?! Truck-kun is Supporting Me from Another World?! is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 14th! 🚚💕

AI has only contributed to the brain rot of the modern shit fest we find ourselves in. I've done all the work, by hand and I'll continue to until the day I die. Fuck AI. I've been making games for decades before AI even existed.

Id like to think im very good at spotting genAI in imagery, but I realize I dont know much about spotting AI code besides the typical things like having Claude mentions in repos. Any of my fellow AI haters able to give me some tips on identifying genAI code?

So, I guess Im making a golf game now. Gonna be some sorta incremental trainer sim sorta thing. You are the coach, you raise the golfers. Monster Rancher but the only monsters are the drives they hit when you spec the golfer into pure power.

Pixel art illustration. On the left is the tee-box, and all the way on the right is a Green. There are large puffy clouds looming in the back and a dark treeline in the back. Two sandtraps flank the 2nd half of the course.

Turns out GDstudio is made using genAI, in the developers own words. "I use claude code to make GDstudio and its not a problem for me because all the architectural decisions are mine." This is an absolute dealbreaker for me and I know it will be for others too.

GDStudio is an attempt to improve the Godot editor... and IMHO it succeeds 100%! In fact, it's hard to go back to regular Godot after using it. Thankfully you can, as its 100% #GodotEngine compatible. gamefromscratch.com/gdstudio-a-b... #gamedev #indiedev

I see some concerns raised about Godot's policy on contributions using AI. TL;DR: Godot isn't vibe-coded. As a whole, the Godot foundation and maintainers are fairly critical of AI usage, and don't make nor accept vibe-coded contributions. Godot doesn't include AI features nor intends to add any.

Godot's current policy on AI-assisted contributions reads like this:

"The use of AI to contribute to Godot is discouraged, and contributions made entirely by AI are prohibited.

We acknowledge that AI can be useful, but we are convinced that human effort results in better and more relevant contributions.

If you do use AI, we expect that you put in effort to proofread and improve anything it generates, and that you disclose what you used AI for. As maintainers spend significant time reviewing your code, please make sure that the code you submit is well-tested and functional. Please be respectful of their time and only submit something you have put thought and effort into."

So Ive been learning western music theory lately and I honestly have no clue. Chord Progression? Key? Scale? Mode??? I just wanna hit the notes on this keyboard and find what sounds good. 😭

So Unreal Engine 6 is gonna have extremely deep integrations with genAI. As if the average gamer doesnt already have negative feelings about Unreal Engine due to things like poor performance, this is gonna make that hate skyrocket. Gonna go from industry standard to universal pariah.
