I'd say that this applies to anyone traveling in a car in any city. Being in a car versus walking, riding, or taking transit fundamentally changes how you view a place and your relationship to it. I wish more leaders set this kind of example. www.npr.org/2026/04/16/n...

Older drivers are uniquely dangerous to others, killing at higher rates than new teen drivers. We have to make it so seniors can live independent, and socially-integrated lives without driving. Transit-oriented multi-use development is good for climate, good for safety

The bulk of it is spent on the debate around licensing with a brief mention at the end of a major issue: Many older drivers live in areas without transportation options. Stricter licensing and more road tests are needed, but we also need to address car dependency.
