We got a nice little surprise when we went to see the new Spider-Man movie today. (Fingers crossed we get the next installment Into the Spiderverse this year. 😩)

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

I was in the PNW for two weeks, and I'm more tan than I've been in YEARS, bc it was so pleasant to be outside. Anyway I have to take my tablet and work in another room now, bc my studio's three external walls make it way too hot. 🎶 "It's the most horr-ible tiiiime of the yearrrr" 🎶

Departing from 59° (Seattle) this morning and arriving to 97° (Houston) was such a (wet) slap in the face today. At least my kiddo was able to capture dawn on our return to Houston this morning.

It really cannot be stressed enough how entirely reasonable and obtainable the goals of orgs like Aftermath are. What if you gave sites like this a buck every time your lip curled in annoyance at bad journalism elsewhere from billionaire-led, industry-complicit rags?

*whispers* you know we can do this cultural debate about art thing all the time, right? Websites and news organizations used to have culture critics on staff whose entire job was writing about books, movies, and TV. People read them and then discussed them. We have the technology to do this again.

Friendly suggestion to my fellow accounts with decent followings: it is a GREAT time to start a weekly art show with your account to boost indie artists/crafters. Everyone is struggling due to AI and Etsy becoming a toilet. We can't magically fix everything but we can help some individuals.
