destroying Canada’s nature and sidelining Indigenous rights in the process doesn't seem to be in the "national interest"............... tacking the climate crisis should be a "national interest project" preventing more biodiversity loss should be a "national interest project"

Carney says this (Bill C-39) is a decisive moment for Canada, & he’s right: his government is deciding to remove decades-long environmental and labour protections to build more pipelines, bypass essential environmental protections, & sideline FPIC from Indigenous Peoples. 🧵 1/7

International cooperation can still happen. I started working on this decades ago, when we were raising the alarm that huge parts of the ocean were unprotected. Winning such globally significant campaigns is what @greenpeace.org does best.

Another one of the oil industry's fave front groups (Canadians for Affordable Energy) is denying the link between climate change & forest fires, falsely claiming that "blaming it on a trace inert gas that is really the foundation of human life" is "dishonest" www.affordableenergy.ca/videos/watch...

WATCH: Reality Check: Climate did not cause Canada’s forest fires - Canadians for Affordable Energy

There’s been a lot of talk about getting pipelines built in Canada but our politicians continue to cave to radical environmentalists.

While countries are facing heat waves and wildfires, oil companies are raking in record profits off the back of climate change, wars, and genocides. Canadian oil companies are expected to make an additional $90 billion this year—it's unacceptable. Demand an excess profits tax >> act.gp/4vUUnoH

Here's a fun little coincidence I noticed: Every Republican Congressmember loudly blaming Canada's forest management policies for this year's unprecedented wildfires (and ignoring climate change) is a massive recipient of fossil fuel funding. Receipts👇
