Book 2 of Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children completed! Quite a good sequel and a marvellous expansion of the Peculiar world from the first. Quite the cliffhanger ending, though so I’ll have to track down the third once I have my tbr pile down to a more reasonable height.

Ok, so I haven’t finished “Colour of Magic” yet, but I forgot it at my friend’s house last weekend so we’re starting one I’ve been looking forward to reading for a number of years now. 📚💙 I read the first book some years ago and I’m excited to see how the story progresses!

“Hollow City”, the second novel of “Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children” by Ransom Riggs.

The cover features a girl of perhaps 12 standing against the backdrop of crumbling buildings. She has a large, clear hole in her torso that allows a view of the rubble behind her. This doesn’t seem to distress her in any way.

And at the same time, I still have yet to hear shit about my appeal @safety.bsky.app this app is really deeply transphobic tbh

So @safety.bsky.app has no problem with people repeatedly harassing and humiliating trans rape victims, but a blocklist that is helping trans people block people who participate in such behavior is against the rules. Got it. So much for "choose your own moderation."

Fox News interviewing Fox reporter from the event. Reporter says she was sitting next to Karoline Leavitt's husband. Says he told her: "You need to be safe and he was very serious when he said that to me. Looked around the room and he said..." Call abruptly cuts.

I’ve officially finished the book! So it was really just the first part of the book that had trouble hooking me, but once we got into the subsequent stories I was getting more interested. Each section is basically its own story about one part of Rincewind and Twoflower’s…

Alright, physical book #2 for 2026 is going to be Terry Pratchett’s “The Colour of Magic”. This will be my second foray into the Discworld, but I don’t think reading Mort in middle school with absolutely no understanding of what I was reading quite counts. 📚💙

A paperback copy of “The Colour of Magic” by Sir Terry Pratchett.
