For the last few years, Brown's been shaken by (externally caused) crisis after crisis. For a brief moment all was calm, and then Pres Paxson announced that next year will be her last. I am sad... Grateful that she steered this ship away from choppy waters for as long as she did. Thank you, Chris!

Those of us who have experienced living in a country with censorship (in my case, the USSR) know very well that it is precisely the stuff "they" don't want you to see that is ultimately most watched. Thanks to Bari Weiss's rookie mistake, *everyone* has seen this segment by now.

First they hit us with cuts to Federal grant funding. Now they are hitting us by imposing taxes on endowments. What makes America truly great, what has, over centuries, made it a hub of thought and innovation, is what's targeted here. The Senate must stop this -- call your Senator now!

Not getting much attention, except in a recent NYTimes story, is a provision to increase the tax on university endowments and those of other nonprofits.
