If "legitimate concerns" were considered to excuse illegitimate methods, then nobody from Just Stop Oil or Palestine Action would have been arrested. So we know it doesn't. In fact that phrase is only ever used in one context. Only in that context is uniformed mob intimidation "peaceful protest"

We name most of the equipment at lab. My groups NMRs are mountains (Tava, Bokan, Hood, Baker, Shasta, Glacier). Another groups are Star Wars (Solo, Chewie, BB8, etc). The HPLCs are named by vendor and model series. Waters - Lord of the rings (Gimli, Smeagle, Aragorn...)...

(Not to litigate on every issue with AI) - but the AI most people probably encounter most frequently is the google search result AI and it is - by far - one of the worst AIs I've ever used. It is so entirely inaccurate, providing incorrect and sometimes harmful information.

Reminder - shop local, buy your meat from local farmers and butchers. It's better quality, its better for the economy, and it is an act of resistance.

Farage tells his conference that if the House of Lords frustrates a majority Reform government, he will flood the upper house with peers to gain a majority, or hold a referendum to sweep them away; and if the judiciary frustrate them, they will “look at how judicial appointments work”. Hmm…

"discharged his weapon and struck the man" - implies he wasnt trying to hit him, which would then be incompetence. But I suspect its trying to soften language rather than say, "fired his gun at the man and killed him" - which, if it is truly self-defense and reasonable force, would be justifiable.

Do people who write with AI not realise their content sounds like AI?

Some... 5 months after a planned power outage took out the hard drive in the console, and then the the probe got broke sitting idle in the magnet waiting for a replacement drive... we finally swapped to the spare RT probe today and I got signal! Very exciting. (not my system, I'm just helping).

Any photography nerds out there? I'm trying to find inspiration. I've got Nikon z5 and a 85mm f/1.8 lens and it's great for portraits but /other/ than photographing people (which involves a level of socialising I don't want)... What's good to photograph with that.
