There are many things I want from a Democratic Congressional majority, but the first is an invocation of Section 3, 14Am disqualification for every state and federal official that enabled the run up to January 6th.

Does the NYT ever ask if a candidate is too fascist?

I get that Democrats are big on the "holier than thou" positions, but when you are taking advice from Joe Scarborough -- who never said that Republicans should disavow Charlie Kirk -- then you start to look like a chump.

It is hard to take seriously that Piker is somehow more toxic than Kirk -- a transphobic racist misogynist. Or Musk, who's a blithering white supremacist.

Only Democrats are asked to run from vocal left-wing voices. Only Democrats are willing to do that. They see it as a sign of their virtue and good faith, but it’s really a sign of weakness—a sign they don’t know how this game is played. Worse, it’s a sign many don’t care.

The conservative movement has long had its loud voices who just say what a lot of right-wingers feel. Republicans never ran from them because it recognized how necessary they were in spreading narratives that they could seed into the mainstream to undermine their opposition and mobilized their base

NEW: On Friday, a gunman shot up the CDC campus in Atlanta. He reportedly believed himself injured by the COVID-19 vaccine. The following day, NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room and called to end the mRNA platform while promoting misinformation about the shots.

This is an excellent essay. It’s particularly important that cis people (like me) do their homework and learn about the issues in order to be effective allies. Trans opponents are well-funded and their goal is to create confusion through misinformation. They’re heartless too, FWIW.

The GOP was fine with ejecting Tony Gonzales. They were surgical about removing Madison Cawthorn, But they cannot eject Miller, who helped plan Jan 6. He's already threatened to spill secrets on Moreno. GOP leaders would rather lose the seat then risk Miller's telling their complicity in Jan 6.
