They a tiny minority that ain't never been told no. That's the problem.
as noted yesterday, Trump has now come around to treating an Iranian toll system covering the Strait of Hormuz as a given. Hard to overstate the level of strategic failure. US started the war purely as a war of choice and ends up dramatically empowering Iran and given the Iranian govt big wins.
Reuters: Iran wants fees of 5%-7% of the price of cargo from ships using the strait; Oman wants 3%. "Making fees voluntary, at least nominally, could be a way out of the impasse, although an implied threat of Iranian attacks could mean shippers would be unlikely to risk transit without paying."
We’re living in a kleptocracy not a democracy. And they’ve got Fox News to lie blatantly and unapologetically. Meanwhile the federal government has gone from ownership of zero private businesses to 10% ownership in over 30 private businesses under the Trump regime. THATS COMMUNISM.
yeah i mean america was such a terrible place the last (and only) time we had a president with a middle eastern name and nobody has fond memories of...
JD Vance: "We don't want the next administration, whoever -- god forbid you're gonna have President El-Sayed in three years ... "
And UAW does know from organizing. From Wiki: UAW members in the 21st century work in industries including autos and auto parts, health care, casino gambling, and higher education.
From the picket line to the halls of the U.S. Senate, we know that Abdul El-Sayed has our back. We're going to fight like hell to make sure in November we're celebrating another victory on election night.
tv ads in politics mostly exist these days to make consultants wealtheir
Talking about the giant ad spend against him: "Turns out, commercials are part of the television show no one wants to watch." lolol
me: more democrats need to talk smack el-sayed: let me lay the smack down
El-Sayed: "Mike Rogers is a guy who wants to put a data center in your backyard so he can make himself feel a little more manly by making an AI video ... he's a guy who went back to Florida so he could lick every single boot Donald Trump owns to bet for his endorsement."
Three years ago, the Biden White House attacked me for saying "Democrats should be fighting on every possible front — filing a flurry of lawsuits and exerting public pressure through the media." "The president's team wants to be more selective in picking legal fights." I feel sadly vindicated.
Of all the things to admit on the internet, “I don’t know how bananas work” is one of the funniest
Spoken like a man who has never had to shop for himself.
This is basically the implicit argument to trump made about January 6. I haven't been punished for it so it can't have been that bad
Rep. Max Miller on Newsmax: "If any of these things were true, I would be in prison"

We are the 51% the magachuds are quivering in their bigly florshiems about. Ladies. You know the deal👩🏻🍳👩🏽🎓🧚🏽🧚🏻♀️💃🏻💃🏾 Grab them by the Vote, because WE CAN🔥🇺🇸
this name shit would be the perfect time for obama and/or mamdani to do a hit for el-sayed. "we've heard a lot of people attacking dr el-sayed over his name. well, for eight years they called me PRESIDENT hussein obama. and i'm MAYOR mamdani. so maybe its time for SENATOR el-sayed."
Chile, folks ready to trade a credit card over this. That's what saying no gets you.
Ladies and gentlemen, the U.S. media.

Another day and another editorial decision by @nytimes.com to refuse to cover that Capital One allegations - filed in a court of law - that they canceled 300 Trump accounts because of money laundering concerns. REALLY weird to ignore evidence of grotesque corruption in the president.
Occupy Wall Street was just ahead of its time. 99% finally waking up & pushing back. (Not least cuz they can see they will never be billionaires under this white-male rigged system.)
I always feel the need to spread props for @alexisgoldstein.bsky.social when I see student debt forgiveness wins.
Congratulations to everyone who worked their asses off for something that any semi-decent and ultimately self-interested government should have done in penance www.nytimes.com/2026/08/03/b...
I know we are chalking the success of some leftist candidates almost entirely to the DSA. However, it seems like the more common theme is that these are candidates with organizing experience?
Story of many many Americans lives.. the medical stuff shouldn’t be political But somehow that has become Toxic too????
ICYMI last night, DHS is currently being fined every day for contempt of court until it coughs up the cell phone records of officers involved in immigration stops in L.A. last year that looked like racial profiling rather than reasonable cause. short thread -->
Fed. judge holds DHS in civil contempt of court for refusing "intentionally and not in good faith" to provide plaintiffs with phone images they intend to use to prove DHS was racially profiling people arrested in Los Angeles without reasonable suspicion. Order from July 28, unsealed today.
Pure genius for Mamdani to label it the pied-a-terre tax. Live by the elitism, pay for the elitism. (& Hochul is proving politically savvier than we realized.) @thebrianlehrershow.bsky.social
