Well. Maintenance guy just came to fix my broken HVAC unit, did something that blew a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker, now the whole apartment is without power. He has gone for backup.
Ew, I just saw one of those taxpayer-funded Trump propaganda ads in the wild for the first time watching Dancing With the Stars. I feel contaminated now. Ew ew ew ew.

I had a butter pecan hojicha latte today at a coffee shop I don't regularly frequent. It was a seasonal special, and I fear this may become one of those food experiences you dream of years after and can never find again.

It turns out I do get ABC, so I am watching Dancing with the Stars for Amber Glenn and Amber Glenn only. I have not watched this show since I was in college and Zendaya was on it. Zendaya didn’t win, so I never watched it again.

There is a fitness expo of some sort happening in the other convention center building from the Worldcon, and the contrast between the SFF fans and the fitness folks is bringing me endless amusement.
I will be at Worldcon this weekend! Say hi if you see me! I will also be skipping the convention tomorrow and Monday to go to Disneyland because nothing can keep me away from Disneyland when I am this close. 😉

Every few years I forget what papaya tastes like, think it looks good at the grocery store, and then get reminded that I do not, in fact, like papaya.

The poetry Hugo is a go! At least until 2029, as there's a policy of re-ratifying new categories three years later. Thank you to @hollylynwalrath.bsky.social, @bugthewriter.bsky.social, @therisingtithes.bsky.social, and everybody else who made this happen!
I went out on my balcony with an N-95 mask on, came back inside, and now my hair smells like smoke. That's how it's going in NYC today.
