The second season of Haunted Hotel is out on Netlix! I supervised a team of animators this time. Not my first time doing it, but my first at Titmouse! As with last season, this show really put me through my paces - it's challenging to work on something this good. But everyone really stepped up!

Played sponsored perimeter with some pals who hadn't played in a long time and we got clapped every single time we engaged with guys except the very first team which we killed lmao. Long strings of losses can be frustrating (I don't care, I love it, but... I get why some people find it rough)

My god. A Virginia data center ran backup diesel generators full blast for 24 hours, creating a giant cloud of toxic smoke that choked its human neighbors. The government claimed there was nothing they could do.

Students made their first minicomics in my intro making course - mostly standard format but this student, a first time maker(!), did something so off the charts I’m still reeling from it! & he made like 12 of them for his classmates! A paper engineering feat of flipbookery as well as killer drawing!

It's time for an actual wealth tax - not an income tax.

Now would be a great time for talented Canadian animators to get to work on things WRITTEN in Canada, if American studios are going to stop making anything and leave a great big hole in the market. Someone would have to pay for it though. Which is why it won’t happen.

I've been breaking from production work to do an updated edit and start doing compositing and it is a miracle I didn't Post Through my troubleshooting troubles with DaVinci Resolve / Fusion. Mostly sorted now, I hope, but don't learn a totally new software when you're on a tight deadline, folks 🫠

BG layouts are done (no colour yet) and I'm working my way through rough animation. Yesterday I sent notes to my friend who's doing the score. I haven't made anything from start-to-finish in a very very long time, and it feels good. Forgot I had some of these muscles. "Make stuff! It feels good!"
