It's bonkers how mentally taxing it is to Have a Job. I finished my contract LAST NIGHT and this morning I've already done multiple household chores that I'd been putting off for too long simply because I was too fried to think about them

The chintzy-looking M64 clone console of the N64 by a company named ModRetro has been released, I think, I don't pay attention that closely to shit. But as the great @frankcifaldi.bsky.social posted before, it is our civic duty to push back against this company and shun ANYONE who doesn't.

I can only assume that anyone who thinks AI cab properly summarize anything hasn't seen the summaries from gchat (which I use at work) which manage to screw up who said what AND totally miss the point. If Gemini cab confuse a 7 message conversation, imagine what else it can do!

Surely the solution here is just *don't use AI tools* for your writing and research and continue to do your writing and research in ALL the ways you were doing it before you started using AI instead of doing the work??

Re: the failure of gamepass: That last point is a big deal - when I got back into playing games in 2021 (I got a new PC) a friend gifted me 3 months of gamepass. I played it a lot, played lots of games, but never stuck with it because I wanted to actually buy the games I liked!

it's more complicated than this imo. normies tend to only play a handful of games they already know about in part because there's little critical infrastructure and games just generally can take awhile to get into. and non-normies who actually play a lot of games prize actual ownership of the games.

Just ran into a friend who told me she pointed out a bunch of red flags on a project in her job interview, did not get hired, and then a year later all those red flags turned into serious problems 🤷‍♀️

I keep thinking about how often the mass layoffs in media, government and big companies, especially women and people of color, will lead to poorer outcomes for years because the people who would point out potential problems or blind spots were deemed non-essential, a "bad fit", and/or too expensive.

This is another animated film that sadly got overlooked by the fact it came out during the pandemic and from what I recall, had a very limited digital release before getting taken off digital storefronts like Amazon. It's an incredible movie that needs a proper physical release.

Vancouver City Council is currently still doing a public hearing for the proposal of a city-block-sized megaproject, burning through literally hundreds of speakers who've gone to bed or otherwise missed their call because it is 12:45am. This is deeply inaccessible and antidemocratic.
