Coastal dweller switches to rural idyll. Derelict cottage with garden along nettly prickly lane. Tiny dog. Elder (now deceased but not yet gone ) Sorting Stuff. Literature. Arts. iPad rubbish. Now what ?

Seem to be collecting numbers. Busy September coming up with me and my tumors (and a couple of mates) taking on a 55 mile ride for the Tour de 4, and then the Great North Run half marathon a week later... Sponsorship link in bio...if anyone could share it around that would be cool, thanks.

Half marathon running number 34466 for the Great North Run and cycling number 1078 for the Tour de 4

Yeah, but a human wouldn't face plant into the crash mat and then have their arm fall off and then catch fire. Checkmate bot boy*. *Unless I'm fleeing our killer robot overlords, in which case "Well done, love your work, John Connor is over there"

A Chinese humanoid robot outran Usain Bolt’s 100-meter sprint world record on the opening day of the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, posting a time of 9.39 seconds — 0.19 faster than Bolt’s pace in 2009.

Just as I arrived back at the courtyard, a tractor arrived with a truck full of sheep. I waited and filmed as the gates were opened and the sheep released from the truck into the field. Some were reluctant to get out.

I’m so proud of myself I feel like I’m going to burst. I took reasonable precautions- phone in pocket. Unlocked the doors in case i needed an ambulance. Put my boots on in case anything landed ln my toes. In the end I was lying on the floor rather than needing steps. I located the issue and fixed.

My sliding wardrobe door has malfunctioned. I’m scared to ram it back into place in case it flies off the handle and whacks me over the head. I’ve managed to slide a few items of clothing out of a drawer using manual dexterity but I’ll have to tackle it. Later.

My own somewhat paltry harvest. Still , the drought didn’t help and there are some still to be lifted. About half of the brown onions bolted and all the red apart from one.

Onions drying in a cardboard box , home grown. Most of them are brown but one red onion. One of my onions being chopped ready for a slow cooker dish involving red wine and various stuff . The onion is chopped and on a wood board with a knife blade in view and a small tray behind

For some reason and probably ill advisedly I re arranged the kitchen swapping the sofa and table and chairs. It all seemed to weigh a ton. But it makes a refreshing change. I had to scrub a few floor tiles from under the sofa where some spiders had set up home.

I have returned to smell smoke and found my neighbour who owns a market garden sized piece of land with a range of dead vehicles and greenhouses with stuff breaking through the glass, sitting vacantly staring at a large bonfire just over the hedge from me. He seems to be burning furniture.

Does anyone I know in here use an electric hedge trimmer ? I have one but too scared to use it. Probably wise but hankering and wondering just how easy it is to use it for the correct purpose rather than my feared catastrophic mind racing ahead and ending in tears consequences And worse.
