here's another throwback from 2016 a private poster commission inspired by Moby Dick honestly still really love this one, both the concept and execution i worked on pre-inked scratchboard for this one (so fully black) instead of the usual white claybord that i ink myself 30x40cm

a black and white scratchboard illustration inspired by Mody Dick. It depicts a giant white whale about to collide with a whaling ship. The scene is viewed from a bird's eye view, high above the scene. Seagulls are seen orbiting around the scene. The ship and the whale create waves in the water that reinforce the tension between them.

I grew up loving the archetype of Tang poets who sang of their love of wine and nature and friendship. They talk about falling off of horses and loving a particular slant of moon and missing their buds all the time. I always wanted my fox to have that vibe 🦊🍶🌔
